About Me

Kaylyn Ryan Dovidio is a dancer, educator, choreographer, artist, and performer from Dallas, Texas. She commits to teaching with enthusiasm and patience, as well as creating a safe environment for listening and collaboration. Her philosophy is to foster creativity, promote curiosity, and develop qualified individuals. She believes in assisting her students in discovering and developing their own voice.

Dovidio has trained in a variety of styles such as: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, and Hip-Hop. She started dancing at the age of 7, and has grown up dancing competitively ever since. Kaylyn began her training at Dance Xpressions in Red Oak, TX and later attended On The Move Dance Studio up until her senior year of high school. At On The Move Dance, she assisted and taught classes from Pre-K - 4th Grade. There, she was taught by Meagan Henriquez, Kali Boyd, Kara Flores, Millie Ayres, Brecia Eubanks, and Kari May. Kaylyn became a member of the Red Oak Highsteppers Drill Team from 7th-8th grade, and later joined the Red Oak Hawkettes Drill Team from 9th-12th grade. During her time on Drill Team, she won many solo and team awards including 1st Division Soloist, All American, Winner's Circle, Grand Champion, and Hawkette Of The Year. Dovidio was awarded a scholarship her senior year at On The Move Dance Studio.

Dovidio is currently attending Texas Woman's University, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Dance Studies with a minor in Business Administration. She was a member of the Pioneer Pride Dance Team, where she served as Captain her junior and senior year. Kaylyn has competed at the National Dance Alliance in Daytona, Florida for three years. She was a member of the team that made history by placing for the first time in the jazz category at NDA Nationals. In her third season with Pioneer Pride, Dovidio received a share in TWU’s historic 2023 National Dance Alliance performance, where Pioneer Pride placed third in the Spirit Rally routine and fourth in the Pom routine-their highest score in history. She was a nominee for NDA All-American, as well as the Jo Kuhn Leadership Award. Kaylyn received the All-Team Sports Performance Award at the Oakley's Annual Athletic Ceremony.

She is also a part of TWU Dance Division where she has performed at numerous showcases including DanceMakers, Dance UpClose, and MFA Culminating Projects. She has appeared in works by Taylor Walzem, Emily Jensen, Andres Andrade, and many more. She has trained in a variety of dance styles at Texas Woman's University, including Contact Improvisation, West African, and African Diaspora.
